Insurance Letters

The WC Division issues Insurance Letters to communicate information with external WC customers. The reasons vary but may include the need to communicate changes in policies or procedures, to highlight law changes and impacts on external WC customers, to announce benefit rate changes, to distribute annual assessments, or to announce a new program or new technology that strengthens customer service.

Act 232, effective April 10, 2022, to provide changes in the method that the average weekly wage (AWW) is calculated for part-time employees.

Stats., law changes effective March 2, 2016, relating to compensation rate changes, a fixed rate for electronic medical records, the maximum charge for a final medical report, the reduction of the statute of limitations for traumatic injuries, the provision allowing no offset of temporary disability based on wages for the first 24 hours an employee works while receiving retraining benefits under § 102.61(1) or (1m), Wis. Stats., and other changes.
