Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Am I eligible for TAA?
To be eligible for the TAA Program, you must:
  1. Be a worker who lost your job at a company and location that has been certified by the U.S. Department of Labor as a trade-affected employer.
  2. Apply for the TAA program, to determine your individual eligibility for benefits and services.
To find out more information on how to start the process for your company or to check if your company was certified, visit the U.S. Department of Labor's website and search for your company’s name.
How do I apply for the TAA program?
See Application Process.

I’m thinking about dropping my classes. Who do I contact?
Any changes to your training plan must be discussed with your TAA Career Planner before any action is taken, including dropping classes. Making changes to your training plan could result in loss of benefits, including your TRA payments. Please contact your TAA Career Planner as soon as possible or call 888-258-9966 before taking any action.
Can I quit or refuse a job to focus on training?
It is important that you do not quit or refuse any job without discussing your options with your TAA Career Planner. Quitting or refusing work could result in loss of benefits, including your TRA payments. Please contact your TAA Career Planner as soon as possible or call 888-258-9966 before you quit or refuse a job.
