Service Provider personnel and subcontractors must complete the training courses listed below. Training completion dates must be entered in the personnel and/or subcontractor's record of the DVR Service Provider Portal prior to working with DVR consumers and/or consumer related information. DVR Service Provider Portal accounts are created and approved after an agency has been accepted as a DVR Service Provider.
Service Provider Personnel are required to complete the technical specification training videos for each of the DVR Statewide Services they will provide to DVR consumers.
Personnel that do not work directly with DVR consumers or complete DVR statewide reports are not required to complete the Technical Specifications training e.g. staff ONLY overseeing invoicing/billing (other training requirements still apply).
Service Provider personnel must take the following training courses and record the date in the personnel record of the online agreement prior to working with DVR consumers and/or consumer related information.
2024 Computer Security Awareness
ALL DVR Service Provider personnel and/or subcontractors must complete an ethics course that meets DVR requirements. Course completion dates must be recorded in the DVR Service Provider Portal System for each active personnel and/or subcontractor listed.
A web-based ethics course is available through the University of Wisconsin-Stout or the VR Development Group.
If this is done, the training must meet the following criteria:
Any approved DVR Service Provider seeking to provide Customized Employment services to DVR consumers is required to have personnel that are providing the service complete one of the trainings listed below or one that meets the ODEP competencies.
Service Providers are not required to submit training certificates to DVR, but certificates must be kept on file by the Service Provider for any personnel providing Customized Employment services to DVR consumers. DVR may request that the provider produce a copy of the certificate of completion on an individual basis.

Only personnel trained and approved can provide Customized Employment training.
Below is a list of trainings that WI DVR is currently aware of that will qualify service provider personnel to provide Customized Employment. This list is not all inclusive. A Service Provider may attend any customized employment training, even if it is not listed below, as long as it meets the ODEP competencies. Service Providers are responsible for all fees, costs and other requirements related to these trainings.
This list will be updated as DVR learns more about other available trainings.
