MADISON – Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary-Designee Caleb Frostman today announced the appointments of JoAnna Richard as deputy secretary and Danielle Williams as assistant deputy secretary.
Richard, a native of Two Rivers in Manitowoc County, graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in political science and history. She has an extensive public service background and has worked in and around state government for more than 30 years, having worked in the state legislature and three executive branch agencies. Richard previously served as Deputy Secretary from 2006-2010.
"Richard will be a key part of our leadership team and I am looking forward to working with her to improve the quality of life for all Wisconsinites through forward-looking economic and workforce development programming," commented Secretary-Designee Frostman.
Williams, from Milton in Rock County, graduated from UW Law School and served the state legislature for 13 years. During her tenure, she worked as a policy advisor for the senate minority caucus chair and legislative director for the senate minority leader. In her most recent roles, she served Dane County as a board supervisor for District 36 and then as an advisor to the Dane County Executive, Board of Supervisors and executive agency staff.
"Danielle and I are excited to work with Secretary-Designee Frostman," Richard said. "We are committed to doing good work on behalf of Governor Evers and serving the people of Wisconsin with transparency and a dedication to strengthen our vibrant and diverse workforce."
