Equal Rights Division Case Portal

Welcome to the Equal Rights Case Portal for complainants, respondents, attorneys, and other authorized representatives. Please note that complaints are not filed through the case portal. To file a complaint use our online application.

The portal allows users to view case information and status, download documents, and view contact information for the staff assigned to the case.

Cases are updated regularly. If you have questions or concerns about your case, or do not see a case listed, contact the Equal Rights Division.

  1. Create your DWD ID.

    Enter your information, create a username and password, and click next.

    If you have previously created a DWD ID to work with another division, such as the Unemployment Insurance Division, or to file a coplaint on or BEFORE October 20, 2022, skip to step 3.

    If you have previously created a DWD ID to file a complaint AFTER October 20, 2022, skip to step 4.

  2. Confirm your email.

    Once you have created your DWD ID, you will receive a confirmation email from the DWD Wisconsin Logon Management System. Use the link provided within that email to confirm your account.

  3. Request access.

    After completing the steps to create your DWD ID, you must request access for first time use if you are a

    • complainant who filed their complaint with the Equal Rights Division (ERD) by mail or fax,
    • complainant who filed their complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC),
    • respondent, or
    • attorney or authorized representative.

    Requests are reviewed regularly.

  4. Login to the Case Portal.

    Once you have confirmed your account, you may Login using your DWD ID.

    Click to see the Civil Rights or Labor Standards case(s). Then, you'll see the list of cases to which you have access. If you do not see a specific case listed contact us.

    Note: Attorneys may grant access to paralegals from the Attorney page (accessible after login). From the Case Portal homepage click Attorney Home Page, click View Paralegals, click the 'Add Paralegal' button and enter the email address. An email will be sent to that email address with the steps necessary to gain access (Steps 1 and 2 of this guide) and a link to login.

    Paralegals will have access to the same list of cases as the associated attorney. The associated attorney must review the list of paralegals every six months to reauthorize access to the case portal.

  5. Click the case number.

    To see more information about the case including:

    • Staff Assigned and their contact information
    • Case Status
    • Upload case related files
      • The case portal will accept files less than 30 megabytes (MB). If your files are larger than 30MB contact the staff assigned to your case and request access to the file share site.
    • Download/view case related files
      • The Equal Rights Division reviews all documents prior to making them available in the Case Portal. Equal Rights staff make every effort to review the files and make them available to you as quickly as possible. Please note this may take up to 30 days. Files containing protected information may not be available via the portal. If you have questions, please contact the staff assigned to your case.

For technical assistance, or if you have difficulty creating a DWD ID, contact the Information Technology Solution Center (ITSC) for assistance by calling 608-266-7252. The ITSC has technicians available from 6 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

If you have not received your confirmation email, please check your SPAM folder before contacting ITSC.
