2026-2028 Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Grant Program Announcement (GPA)

The purpose of the grant is to sustain and expand the statewide youth apprenticeship program. All local partnerships must be approved by the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) to operate a Youth Apprenticeship Program.

Funding under this Grant Program Announcement (GPA) is available to consortia which will implement and coordinate a YA program. Consortia may consist of:

One or more school districts

One or more school districts plus any of the following:

Community based organizations
CESAs
Employers
Colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System
Labor unions
Chambers of commerce
Workforce Development Boards
Other public agencies
Other contributing individuals

Grant requests are limited to $1,100 per youth apprentice served, and grantees must serve at least 25 students to be eligible. All grant awards are contingent upon the availability of state funds. The grant application materials are available for review below.

GPA Application - Narrative - Must be uploaded to cBASERS.

GPA Application - Proposed Budget Worksheet: This form can be used by the Consortium to capture information necessary to enter budget information. The GPA Application Budget is keyed in using the Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards Electronic Registration System (cBASERS).

Supplement 1: YA Partnership Agreement – To be kept on file with the consortium
