Governor's Task Force on Workforce and Artificial Intelligence Sets Jan. 22 Virtual Meeting

Task Force to Hear Presentations from US Center for Advanced Manufacturing and World Economic Forum Leaders; Discuss Subcommittee Work

MADISON – A Jan. 22 meeting of the Governor's Task Force on Workforce and Artificial Intelligence will feature presentations by the US Center for Advanced Manufacturing and World Economic Forum along with presentations from the task force subcommittees.

The meeting will be held virtually from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Register for the online event via Eventbrite. Upon registering, participants will receive links to the main session as well as the three subcommittee sessions covering Industries, Occupations, and Skills; Equity and Economic Opportunity; and Workforce Development and Educational Solutions.

"The Governor's Task Force on Workforce and Artificial Intelligence continues to seek ideas and opportunities to harness AI technologies and strengthen Wisconsin's workforce for the 21st century and beyond," said DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek, who chairs the task force. "Wisconsin's workers, employers, and job seekers all have much to gain from a strategic approach to policies and investments that maintain the competitiveness of our workforce and our industries through the AI transformation."

Featured speakers at the task force meeting include:

Stephanie Wright, Chief Operating Officer, US Center for Advanced Manufacturing. Wright will cover The Importance of a Human Centric Approach to AI and the Workforce.
Stacey Weismiller, Initiative and Community Lead, Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains, USA, World Economic Forum. Weismiller will cover World Perspectives on AI and the Workforce.

The Governor's Task Force on Workforce and Artificial Intelligence is bringing together leaders from business, agriculture, education, technology, labor, workforce development, and government to identify policies and investments that will advance Wisconsin workers, employers, and job seekers through this technological transformation. The task force is chaired by the secretary of the Department of Workforce Development or a designee with additional leadership from the secretary of the Department of Administration or a designee and the secretary of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. or a designee.
