MADISON – The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) preliminary employment estimates for the month of July 2022. The state added 10,000 private-sector jobs and 9,900 total nonfarm jobs and the state's unemployment rate was 3.0% in July.
"Today's report shows that Wisconsin's economy continues to add jobs while our unemployment rate remains near record lows," DWD Secretary-designee Amy Pechacek said. "Wisconsin employers continue to have jobs available, and at DWD, we will work tirelessly to connect workers with well-paying career opportunities by providing top-tier worker training and placement services through one of our many programs including apprenticeship, Wisconsin Fast Forward, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and others."
