UX/UI Design Bootcamp
Concordia University Wisconsin
06/01/2020
Over the course of 24 weeks, you will be introduced to the two major skillsets that drive digital interactions: UX (user experience) and UI (user interface) Design. The design cycle begins with UX research: designing surveys, conducting interviews, analyzing data with tools such as user personas and empathy maps. Once you understand the user, you will then learn the basics of graphic design: composition, color theory, and typography before moving on to understanding their application to the user interface. Wireframes and prototypes are where you will work out your ideas for how the interface should function and appear. Throughout the program, you will be working on two portfolio projects to show future employers. In the last four weeks, you will work on your third portfolio project: your capstone, a project driven by real ideas and real people. The program will end with Demo Day, your opportunity to present to the community and potential employers everything you have learned. Show More

Design Process and UX Foundations will teach with the Designer’s Mind: What does a User Experience Designer actually do? What is Design Thinking? In this course, you will explore answers to these questions by learning how to interpret your user’s needs, their mindsets, and how to design digital products for large user groups. Then you'll look at the big picture in design: How do you begin to design a user interface? How do users respond to cutting-edge designs vs. outdated designs? PLEASE NOTE:

If there are fewer than eight enrollments in the training program, only the "Enrollments" number will be displayed; all other data is hidden in order to help protect the students' identities. The "Employment Outcomes" are calculated using information from Wisconsin's Unemployment Insurance Wage database. Most employers are required to report certain employment information to the State of Wisconsin, including quarterly wage information for their employees. Students whose information could not be verified in this database are excluded from these outcomes. If a "0" shows for any of these outcomes, it means that none of the students' information could be verified.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
