DWD Announces Teacher Training and Development Grants for Wisconsin Schools

Available only to school boards of a school district or governing bodies of public, private or charter schools that can demonstrate a critical need to train and license teachers.

MADISON – The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced today that applications are now being accepted for Teacher Training and Development grants. Grant applications ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 will be considered. Deadline to apply is 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018.

The grants will give current school employees and others the opportunity to become licensed teachers, strengthening Wisconsin's educational workforce and providing high-quality education to its students.

"DWD is committed to helping our educational employees get the skills they need to help mold and shape the next generation of students," said DWD Secretary Ray Allen. "These grants are designed to prepare employees to complete the requirements necessary for a teaching permit or license in general education, bilingual studies and/or special education."
