Deadline Approaches for Manufacturing Training Grant Proposals in Round 4 of Governor Walker's Wisconsin Fast Forward Initiative

MADISON – Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Reggie Newson today reminded manufacturing employers with customized worker training needs to apply for grants funds under Round 4 of Governor Walker's Wisconsin Fast Forward (WFF) initiative. The WFF encourages partnerships between employers, educational partners, and workforce and economic development organizations.

The manufacturing grant application deadline closes at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, July 2. Grants from $5,000 to $400,000 are available for projects covering manufacturing and related occupations. For additional details, visit: http://dwd.wisconsin.gov/wff/announcements.htm

Manufacturing is one of nine categories comprising Round 4 of the Governor Walker's Wisconsin Fast Forward worker training grant initiative. The program makes grants available to employers for customized skills training to fill current job openings and ongoing skill requirements.

The DWD Office of Skills Development set Round 4 categories based on a comprehensive analysis of pressing workforce needs that included skilled worker labor market employment projections and immediate worker training needs of employers.
