REMINDER: Public Comment Period on Suggestions for UI Reform
Deadline to submit comments will be Nov. 14; a public hearing is set for Nov. 13 at seven sites
MADISON – The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today encouraged the public to submit comments about the state's Unemployment Insurance system to the Unemployment Insurance Advisory Council (UIAC). The Council is taking public comments on suggested reforms to the state's UI laws through this Friday, November 14, 2014. The comments will help form the Council's legislative agenda during the following year.

The Council will also take public comments at a public hearing this Thursday, November 13, 2014. The hearing will be administered in Madison and broadcast live through web video at six locations throughout the state. Hearing attendees will be able to share reform ideas with the UIAC in real time at any of the seven locations:

The UIAC has an even number of employer and employee representatives who meet monthly to recommend law changes and analyze legislative proposals that affect the state's UI program.
