State Plan

(Effective October 1, 2016)

In partnership with the Wisconsin Rehabilitation Council (WRC), the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) annually updates its State Plan for vocational rehabilitation (VR) and supported employment services. As a result of the passage of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA), however, DVR's state plan will now align and be incorporated into a combined state plan with Wisconsin's other workforce partners. The DVR State Plan now includes requirements for the vocational rehabilitation program under Title IV of the Combined State Plan that was required to be submitted to the Department of Labor by March 3, 2016 for approval, and implemented by July 1, 2016. The plan covers four program years. The DVR State Plan development process provides for public comment, and consideration by the Wisconsin Rehabilitation Council prior to its incorporation into the Combined State Plan. Further consideration and public comment was provided by the Governor's Council on Workforce Investment.

The Vocational Rehabilitation Services State Plan (Title IV of WIOA) provides a blueprint for how the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation will achieve service goals and commitments.

With an $80+ million annual investment in people with disabilities, their training and placement in good paying jobs, VR services have a positive impact on Wisconsin's families and economy. Wisconsin's Vocational Rehabilitation Services continue to be an important part of Wisconsin's future economic success.
