Subject - Purchasing Interpreter Services for Individuals - Prior to becoming a DVR Case

I/TW and OJA forms and related documents have been updated to include information about the process for those consumers receiving SSI or SSDI that are participating in an I/TW and/or OJA and the need to report the I/TW and/or OJA and wages to the local Social Security office.

Why the Changes?

Consumers receiving SSI and SSDI may be unaware of this requirement.

This oversight in some cases can result in benefit reduction, delay, or stoppage for SSI and SSDI recipients.

What are the changes?

Information regarding this process has been added to the following documents and appears highlighted:

  1. Flowchart
  2. Frequently Asked Questions
  3. I/TW Process Checklist
  4. OJA Process Checklist
  5. I/TW Guidance

Please review this information with consumers receiving SSI and/or SSDI prior to the individual participating in an I/TW or OJA.

If you have any questions regarding this update, please consult with your WDA director or supervisor.
