Subject - Update on the DVR Training Grant Effective Fall 2015
This fall an expedited payment can now be made to direct to UW system, Wisconsin Technical Colleges and Wisconsin Non-Profit schools accredited through the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) for Fall 2015. See attached list. WAICU schools are non-profit and accredited through the State Wisconsin Approval Authority.
ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL IS STILL REQUIRED TO AUTHORIZE ATTENDANCE AT A PRIVATE SCHOOL.

All previous information provided regarding use of purchase orders to in-state private schools for post-secondary school via a training grant.
Why is this change being made?
To align the process as it is for in-state public schools.
What are the changes?
An updated Step-By-Step Payment Process Guide has been posted to the Information Center with some minor changes to include WAICU Schools.
An updated process for Non-FAO Training has also been posted to the Information Center. MAKE SURE THAT YOU INDICATE NON-FAO ON AUTHORIZATIONS. CCP needs a method to distinguish those authorizations from students using a Training Grant.
For the academic school year the training grant calculation process will continue as it has via email from DVR to the financial aid offices. DVR staff can begin now to obtain signatures on the Print Version of the training grant form and complete that section including the school information. It is strongly encouraged that you provide a copy of the updated Responsibility Checklist and Training Grant letter to DVR Consumers so that they understand what is expected.
After July 1, you may use the blank Print Version of the training grant form and forward these to respective school FAO's. WAICU schools will use the blank electronic version of the form. The pre-populated versions for UW System and Wisconsin Technical Colleges are not available but will be available July 1. Notice of those updates will be sent in a separate email. Until that time you may use the electronic version of the TG form if you feel it is necessary to begin the process now. It would be best if you could wait until the forms are populated.
DO NOT SEND TRAINING GRANT FORMS TO CCP UNTIL AFTER SCHOOL CENSUS DATES.
Updates to all of the checklists, payment guide, tools and other guidance are in process and will be completed on the Training Grant webpage. Check revision dates to insure that you are using the correct versions of these resources. The Payment Guide will now include information about WAICU schools to assist you in completing the payments to those schools.
Direct Payments for post-secondary training are to be considered only as an exception and with supervisory review. The supervisor must confirm that the school will NOT accept a purchase order. DVR staff must record the date, name and contact information for school personnel in a casenote when a school will NOT accept a PO.
The student must provide proof of payment, schedule and grades for continued support.
