Description

DVR has established an account with Language UC for VRI to enable DVR staff to provide Video Remote Interpreting services to consumers through webcams on tablet computers.

In situations where it is difficult to arrange interpreter services due to limited interpreter availability, travel distance or time considerations VRI can be an effective tool to enable DVR staff to communicate with consumers.

Language UC VRI provides instant access to certified ASL interpreters as well and foreign language interpretation services.

It is necessary for DWD BITS to load On Demand Interpreting (ODI) software to your tablet before using Language UC. Several DVR have already used Language UC and have the necessary software to access the service at this time.

Because of workload considerations we would like to do a gradual roll out on the software installation. Please wait to request software until you have a consumer who requires the service and has expressed a willingness to use VRI.
