Subject - Department of Justice (DOJ) Background Check Procedures
September 4, 2014
- Approved by DVR Senior Leadership Team - August 25, 2014.
- All previous DOJ background check procedures.
Why is this change being made?
- To align with Policy Academy recommendations to provide additional guidance on when a background check may be important, to remind staff that the DOJ background check is Wisconsin specific, and that the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access may be sufficient in many cases.
The updated procedures (http://dwd.wisconsin.gov/dvr/info_ctr/legal/doj_background_check.pdf) have been included in the DVR Information Center (Legal Section) and the Self-Employment Start-up Toolkit.
Please consult with your WDA Director or VR Supervisor if you have questions related to this procedure.
