- Discussed at Policy Academy – July 2014.
- Approved by DVR Senior Leadership Team – September 2014.
All previous versions of the Confidentiality Guidance Piece.
Why is this change being made?
Questions were raised on if DVR was allowed to share ongoing sharing of information with parents/ family members or other advocates who were not the consumers legal guardian. There was inconsistent practices occurring across the state.
All DVR staff must review the updated Confidentiality Guidance and Directors/Supervisors should ensure the entire guidance piece is discussed in their WDA/Team meetings. There are several common scenarios provided within the guidance that may be helpful for staff to review.
Please consult with your WDA Director or VR Supervisor if you have questions related to these updates.
