Fire Protection Technician
Fox Valley Technical College
Firefighters provide a special service to the community, protecting people and their property with fire prevention and protection efforts. To prepare for this career field, you ll learn the principles of fire behavior, management, prevention and protection systems, as well as other emergency services. Your training will include knowledge of building construction and the use of water in fire protection. You ll also learn about hazardous materials, rope, confined space and trench rescue, as well as EMT-Basic certification training. Through realistic classroom simulation and hands-on experience, you will master the knowledge and techniques to save lives and property in our FESHE aligned program. With this training, you ll be ready for numerous Wisconsin firefighter certifications. Get started on this exciting, rewarding career.

A program that requires its students to demonstrate they have successfully acquired a set of skills or knowledge base prior to completing the program. Compare to a "time-based" training program that results in successful completion if the students participate in a certain number of instructional hours.

3 weeks prior to a semester beginning in either August for fall or January for spring.

FVTC Teaching & Learning Center - tutoring is available for Math, Accounting, Science, Reading and study skills, writing and study groups.
Tuition and fees are subject to change. Costs may not include all books or all materials and supplies.Some textbook costs may be included in the estimated program cost
Refunds are processed according to the WTCS refund policy. Wisconsin Technical College 10.08, Wisconsin Administrative Code, establishes the requirements for district policies and procedures related to student fee refunds. Refunds are applicable only from the date the student officially drops the class through Enrollment Services or online. FVTC will not drop any classes for students for nonpayment or for failure to attend any portion of the class. All references to student fees mean applicable
