Nursing Assistant

A nursing assistant is an essential member of the healthcare team. This program will help you learn how to provide for the personal care and comfort of people with health problems. You will learn to bathe, dress, feed, mobilize and transport people; obtain pulse and temperature; and report observations and reactions to the health care team. Nursing assistants prepare equipment, take care of the patient s room and keep patient records. In this role, you may assist clients with dementia and rehabilitation needs, and provide restorative care to help them maintain their independence. Upon completion, you ll be ready to take the certification exam. You will have a variety of employment options as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Students must meet the minimum requirements for English language proficiency (high intermediate at minimum, with advanced level preferred). Students who do not meet these requirements can get help by enrolling in FVTC’s Intensive English program.

Refunds are processed according to the WTCS refund policy. Wisconsin Technical College 10.08, Wisconsin Administrative Code, establishes the requirements for district policies and procedures related to student fee refunds. Refunds are applicable only from the date the student officially drops the class through Enrollment Services or online. FVTC will not drop any classes for students for nonpayment or for failure to attend any portion of the class. All references to student fees mean applicable

PLEASE NOTE:

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
