Occupation–Early Childcare Educator Apprenticeship, RI Provider– Western Tech College, Length of program–4,432 hrs. OJT Wage-start 14.50, 14.75, 15.75 finish, # of Active Apprentices– 2, # of Completed Apprentices– 0, Graduation Rate – N/A, Minimum Requirements– 18 yrs old w/HSED or equivalency. Description– Maintain a safe environment. Promote child development. Promote child nutrition and hygiene. Guide children’s behavior. Implement curriculum. Engage family. Demonstrate leadership and professionalism. The apprentice must:1. Obtain Infant/Child, AED, First Aid and CPR certification during the first 3 months of the program and maintain it throughout. 2. Complete DCF certification requirements to provide care to children within the first 6 months of the program. 3. Register with The Wisconsin Registry within the first 6 months of the program and keep their registration updated. 4. Successfully complete Transition to Trainer in the final year of the program.
