Commercial Motor Vehicle - Class A Tractor Trailor

This program offers training in a variety of vehicles including sleeper cabs, a day cab, logging loader rail trailer, dry van trailer and both manual and automated shifting transmissions. Additionally, this program offers extensive classroom training, hands-on vehicle activities, and behind-the-wheel practice in preparation for commercial driver license tests. Topics covered include, but not limited to safety, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, truck mechanical parts and components, vehicle inspection procedures, basic truck maneuvers, driving techniques, trucking industry practices and additional content. The college prepares the student to test for their CLP and provides the education to test for their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Completion of the CMV certificate program does not guarantee the CDL licensure. Successful acquisition of the CDL license does not constitute completion of the CMV certificate program. Show More

Faculty assist the students in making connections with companies looking to hire drivers.
Faculty are available to assist students in understanding coursework outside of the classroom.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
