Wisconsin library directors are required to be certified by the Wisconsin DPI, this helps to ensure that the public libraries in the state are administered by highly qualified library personnel. Qualifications for the certification are based on education, training and experience. Graduates of the LIS program will have the required coursework for a Grade III certification, which includes 54 semester credit hours from a college and the four required library-specific courses.

CVTC offers its students career service to aid in finding employment during and after an educational program.
CVTC offers tutoring to students through the Academic Services department.
Refunds for all courses scheduled to meet a semester or longer:
100% before the first day the class meets. The day the class meets and not the
time of day defines the first class meeting.
80% during the first 14 calendar days from the first instructional day of the term.
60% during the 15th through the 28th calendar days from the first instructional
day of the term.
Zero after the 28th calendar day from the first instructional day of the term.
