The Five Star Youth Pre-Apprenticeship Childcare Program is designed for young individuals aged 16-24, allowing them to develop essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in early childhood education. Through 233 hours of hands-on learning, mentorship, and classroom instruction, participants will gain foundational competencies in child safety, creative expression, positive interaction, and developmental care for infants and toddlers. The Five Star Youth Pre-Apprenticeship Childcare Program serves as an enriching career pathway, guiding young individuals aged 16-24 toward a fulfilling profession in early childhood education. This pathway is structured to provide a strong foundation through 233 hours of immersive hands-on learning, mentorship, and classroom instruction. By focusing on essential competencies—child safety, creative expression, positive interaction, and developmental care for infants and toddlers—participants emerge prepared to make a real difference in the lives of children. As part of the program, on-the-job training offers invaluable real-world experience, allowing participants to confidently apply their skills in actual childcare settings. Upon completion, graduates earn a childcare certification and are equipped to explore further educational opportunities and career advancements in the childcare and early education fields.
Through our partnership with Staff Our Schools, Five Star connects graduates with employers in childcare, offering resume workshops, interview coaching, and career counseling. This support ensures graduates transition smoothly into the workforce and find fulfilling job opportunities. Connecting with Registered Apprenticeship Programs Five Star helps graduates connect with Registered Apprenticeships in Early Childhood Education, combining paid work experience with academic courses that lead to higher degrees. This path enhances professional growth and educational achievement efficiently.
Five Star offers personalized tutoring as part of the Pre-Apprenticeship Childcare Program to support participants in their journey. Our dedicated tutors are available to guide learners through each stage, ensuring they grasp foundational childcare concepts and practical skills. This tutoring service provides extra supp, ort in key areas such as child development, health and safety, and nurturing creativity in young children. By adapting to each student’s learning pace and needs, tutoring sessions help build confidence, reinforce core knowledge, and strengthen the competencies essential for a successful career in early childhood education. This added support layer enables every participant to excel in the program and sets them up for success in their future career endeavors.

These fees cover three essential certifications that participants will earn as part of the program: Infant/Toddler Certification – $250 This certification prepares participants to work with infants and toddlers by covering child development, safety protocols, and nurturing techniques for children ages 0-2 years. Skills and Strategies for Childcare Providers – $250 This course teaches best practices for classroom management, lesson planning, engaging young learners, and handling behavioral challenges in childcare settings. Introduction to the Childcare Profession – $250 This foundational course provides an overview of childcare regulations, licensing requirements, and ethical responsibilities for early childhood educators.
Participants who withdraw within the first week of the program are eligible for a 50% refund of tuition, minus the registration fee. No refunds will be issued after the first week of the program.
