Contriving Construction Trades Training Program aims to introduce students to the construction industry before they begin an apprenticeship. Through both classroom and hands-on instruction, graduates will acquire competencies required by the industry, as specified by the training program. Programs are designed to offer a thorough approach to vocational and educational training, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for careers in the construction trades. After weeks of classroom material and in the field engagements, individuals receive the essential tools and equipment needed for success. Once completed they are referred and positioned into temporary employment; then based on skills and effort transitioned into union and non-union apprenticeship careers. Contriving Construction is dedicated to launching successful careers in the skilled trades. Our mission is rooted in proven approaches that help individuals gain the foundational skills and hands-on experience needed to thrive in construction. Our apprenticeship readiness training is designed to prepare participants for the demands of real-world job sites and connect them with opportunities in high-demand trades. Our training emphasizes core construction skills and provides a direct pathway to registered apprenticeships with trade unions, including electricians, plumbers, Heating and Cooling, painters, and especially carpenters and laborers. At Contriving Construction, we're not just training workers, we're building the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
Each participant is connected with our dedicated Career Placement Specialist who provides one-on-one support throughout their journey. Together, they create a personalized career plan, build essential job search skills, and develop a professional resume. The Placement Specialist also helps connect participants with higher education apprenticeship and/or job opportunities that align with their training and career goals.
