Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training

This 80 hour program covers a broad range of topics, ranging from how to bathe a patient, to positioning a patient properly. You will learn about abuse and neglect, how to feed and dress a patient, proper body mechanics for lifting and turning patients. It also covers topics such as recognizing depression, dealing with dementia, infection control issues, and catheter care. Time spent in lecture and hands on skills training is 64 hours. The clinical aspect is 16 hours and that is where you will be working during shifts at a clinical site and mastering all the skills you were taught during your lecture and skills training. Show More

Be able to read & write English at minimum 9th grade level. Present a valid ID & social security card. Be physically able to perform required tasks/skills. Provide proof of negative TB test. Must be drug & alcohol free. Must be free of criminal convictions within the past 5 years or any that prevent the student from being added to nurse aide registry. Must provide & wear scrubs for class (we'll provide clinical scrubs) & must provide own transportation to class & clinical. Must be able to pass a caregiver background check

This program is offered

At least one week prior to start of new class
Once participant successfully becomes a certified CNA they may continue on to schooling for LPN or RN.
Higher Learning CNA Training is able to giver referrals to facilities that are hiring CNAs
Instructor is able and willing to meet outside of class hours to assist students who may be struggling with content.

Total cost includes textbook rental, workbook, background check, supplies/materials used during instruction (Gloves, masks, protective eyewear, isolation gowns).
