Landscape Horticulture
Milwaukee Area Technical College
For opportunities that require outdoor work, creativity and plant knowledge, check out horticulture/landscape careers. This program includes coursework in landscape maintenance and arboriculture, and emphasizes hands-on learning. There is a steady demand for arborists, horticulturists, landscape designers and landscapers. You can earn the Landscape Horticulture Technician on the way to completing this degree. Additional program details: Sustainable and environmental horticulture operations; maintaining healthy trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants; selecting and installing plant material; operating equipment; and developing and executing landscape plans are covered to prepare you for careers in the horticulture/landscaping field. MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
