This program is for certified nursing assistants who will, upon completion, be involved with administration/distribution of medications to residents in a skilled care nursing facility. Employer approval and proof of work experience are required. This program will prepare students to administer medications to residents in a nursing home. The Medication Assistant program consists of classroom and laboratory instruction and supervised practice in a nursing home. After completing this program, students will meet state requirements for the Medication Assistant Registry This program will ONLY be available through a contract. Admission Requirements • Complete Paper Northwood Tech application form • Be at least 18 years old at class start • Submit an official high school (or HSED/GED) transcript with graduation date. o If you are a current high school student, you can be admitted with an unofficial, or official, current transcript. This training will be offered through a contract with regional employers.
Employment Services available to College students and graduates include: Electronic postings of all current openings listed with Employment Services are located on Wisconsin TechConnect, work-study positions within Northwood Tech are mailed/e-mailed to eligible students, Salary and placement information Northwood Tech dates are posted on the Northwood Tech Web site on each program page, resumé assistance - staff are available to assist with resumés, cover letters, etc. (check with Student Services), seminars/workshops held on campus (including interview preparation), and job fairs held on campus.
The Academic Support Center (ASC) is located at each campus. Community members and students are encouraged to meet with an ASC instructor to create a personalized success plan. Services include: GED/HSED preparation, college preparation coursework, academic support within the classroom, foundational skill building classes in math/writing/reading, test taking and study skills strategies, critical thinking skills, basic computer skills, learning styles inventory, free peer tutoring, workshops focused on student learning, math and writing labs, academic coaching: individual one on one support, and English Language Learner (ELL) classes.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
