Medication Assistant
Lakeshore Technical College
This course is designed for current certified nursing assistants looking to grow professionally by learning the role and scope of the medication assistant and how to administer select medications safely. Course content includes basic principles of medication administration, simple math calculations, the scope of the medication assistant, and simulated and clinical experiences.

Qualifications: 1. 2000 hours experience as nurse aide in direct patient care in last 3 years 2. Worked at least 40 hours as a nurse aide within the last 90 days with residents student will have clinical with. 3. 4 written recommendations (2 from licensed charge nurses, one from DON of nursing home student will have clinical at, one from administrator of nursing home student will have clinical at.) 4. At least 18 years old 5. Have a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. 6. Be current on the State of Wisconsin nurse aide directory. 7. Be current on the federal nurse aide directory.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
