The family and consumer sciences (FCS) program at UW-Stevens Point is one of the largest offered in the country. Our program is approved by the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) and provides coursework that meets the standards required for graduates to obtain the Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) designation. All of the courses in the FSC major are available online as well as face-to-face in the following two options: Child Life and Family Studies: Be nationally certified to work with families in a variety of environments, agencies and programs. Child life and family studies graduates are often employed in community-based education, childcare settings, adoption agencies, family crisis centers and eldercare programs. Completion of 10 specific courses fulfills the academic requirements on the path to becoming a child life specialist. MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
