In this course you will look at the most important aspect of nonprofits: mission, budgets, governance and leadership issues, laws, managing volunteers, marketing, and fundraising. Learn about the certification process for grant professionals and write different elements of a complete grant application, culminating in a case statement for your capstone assignment with expert instructor feedback on each element. From grant funding trends to matching your course project to the right funding sources, you will be confident in differentiating yourself from a grant writer to a grant professional. This course is designed to prepare you for the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) exam offered by the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) which has minimum requirements of education and grant experience based on the level of education obtained. Basic keyboarding and computer skills, including the ability to navigate the Internet and use e-mail, are required. Additionally, students need prior experience using a word-processing computer program (Microsoft Word is recommended) and a spreadsheet program (such as Microsoft Excel). PLEASE NOTE:

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
