The Certified Medical Assistant Certificate program at Bay College is a twelve (12) month occupational certificate program. The goal of this program sets a minimum expectation to prepare competent entry-level medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains as set forth by the Medical Assisting Education Review Board Core Curriculum (MAERB) as outlined in their current standards. This program will prepare graduates to work in an administrative and clinical capacity within a variety of medical office, ambulatory, outpatient and community clinical settings by providing students with the knowledge, skills and qualities required for competent entry level practice in the role of the Certified Medical Assistant. Students will receive a refund of 100% of tuition and designated fees if a course is dropped within the period of 10% of the calendar days of the course. Exceptions may be made when warranted by unusual circumstances. Written appeals are made to the Appeals Committee. If a class is cancelled, a student will automatically receive a full refund of tuition and fees.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
