Senior Certified Security Professional program combines the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification preparation courses. In the CISM course, participants learn how to establish processes to ensure that information security measures align with established business needs. CISM topics include: Information Security Governance, Risk Management, IS Program Development, IS Program Implementation, IS Program Management and Incident Management and Response. In the CISSP course, participants will expand upon their knowledge by addressing the essential elements of the 8 domains that comprise a Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) for information systems security professionals. Topics include: SECURITY & RISK MANAGEMENT, ASSET SECURITY, SECURITY ENGINEERING, COMMUNICATIONS & NETWORK SECURITY, IDENTITY AND ACCESS MANAGEMENT, SECURITY ASSESSMENT AND TESTING, SECURITY OPERATIONS and SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SECURITY. It is highly recommended that students have certifications in CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ or possess equivalent professional experience upon entering CISSP training. It will be beneficial if students have one or more of the following security-related or technology-related certifications or equivalent industry experience: MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, SCNP, CCNP, RHCE, LCE, CNE, SSCP, GIAC, CISA, or CISM. Additional CISSP certification requirements include a minimum of five years of direct professional work experience in two or more fields related to the eight Common Body of Knowledge security domains or a college degree and four years of experience. Students interested in CISM certification must have a minimum of 5-years of professional information security management work experience as described in the CISM job practice areas. We offer interviewing practice sessions and resume reviews. Professional job placement assistance through recruiting and business partnerships is available to career development students.
