Gain the hands-on skills you need in Moraine Park Technical College s Manufacturing Fundamentals certificate. Gain the skills (and confidence) you need for an entry-level position in the manufacturing industry through Moraine Park s hands-on Manufacturing Fundamentals certificate. Students get an introduction to manufacturing processes as well as basic training to safely operate machines such as lathes, milling machines and surface grinders. Students learn how to read, visualize and interpret industrial blueprints, and practice using basic measuring equipment such as scales, micrometers, dial calipers and gage blocks. The courses in this certificate can be directly transferred into Moraine Park's Automated Manufacturing Technician technical diploma and Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology associate degree. Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester. Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.
The courses in this certificate can be directly transferred into Moraine Park's Automated Manufacturing Technician technical diploma and Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology associate degree.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
