IT - Cybersecurity Specialist

Become an expert in internet security and enter a complex and quickly-growing career field with the Information Technology - Cybersecurity Specialist program. Cyberattacks are the fastest-growing crime in the U.S., and the complexity of these attacks is alarming. In response, organizations require internal resources to prevent these threats. The Information Technology - Cybersecurity Specialist program prepares students to work as cybersecurity specialists, whose main responsibility is to protect an organization's computer network and systems. They are also skilled at maintaining system security to prevent cyberattacks. Graduates will protect data confidentiality, integrity and availability while learning ways to implement security mechanisms. Emphasis is placed on vigilant security awareness, identifying network threats and deploying appropriate incident responses. This program is offered

Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester. Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
