The Nursing Program will educate students in the art of caring and prepare them with evidence-based knowledge and clinical practicum to take the NCLEX-RN licensing examination upon graduation. This fundamental level of nursing will help them to earn a career foundation in the health care field and provide opportunities to work in entry-level nursing positions.

Pre-Nursing Prerequisite: (must be completed prior to admissions into program) EDC 110 Introduction to Higher Education ENG 108 College Writing, Research, & Critical Reading ENG 112 Speech NAS 100 Introduction to Ojibwe Culture SCI 103 General Chemistry I MTH 146 College Algebra HTH 116 Nursing Assistant Candidacy Requirements (must be completed prior to admissions into program) Background Checks: National Background Check Immunizations: Measles Mumps and Rubella (MMR) Proof of immunity or titer Varicella Proof of immunity or titer Hepatitis B Proof of immunity or titer Tetanus Proof within the last 10 years Influenza vaccine – within last 12 months Health Screenings: Health History (Completed by Doctor or Nurse Practitioner) Tuberculosis 2-Step Screening and further assessment results if indicated. Credentials: CPR for Health Care Providers Math Assessment 80% or better, 2 attempts allowed.

Trio Student Support Services provides tutoring to students that meet the eligibility requirements. If students do not qualify for Trio services, tutoring is available in the Learning Center.

REFUND POLICY Students who withdraw from LCOOC may be eligible to receive a credit to their student account for tuition and fees charged for the semester. Tuition and fees are refunded as follows: • 50% 2 weeks after the add/drop of the semester • 100% until the last day to add/drop for the semester

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
