HEAVY EQUIPMENT TRAINING PROGRAM II

This program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to operate and maintain a variety of equipment, such as scrapers, bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, fork lifts, and skid steers. Includes instruction in digging, ditching, sloping, stripping, grading and back filling, clearing and excavating, laser levels, blue prints, equipment transporting, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance.

Student must be at least 18 years of age and have the ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical.

This program has job placement services. The Career Services Department works personally with each student during training and then provides each student with a list of potential employers for their local area. All graduates are provided access to our Job Leads database which contains the name and contact information for thousands of employers nationally. While in school, students receive training in skills essential to finding a job. These skills include employment application procedures, interviewing techniques, and networking methods.

If needed: housing cost at $120/week for double occupancy.

PLEASE NOTE:

The "Employment Outcomes" are calculated using information from Wisconsin's Unemployment Insurance Wage database. Most employers are required to report certain employment information to the State of Wisconsin, including quarterly wage information for their employees. Students whose information could not be verified in this database are excluded from these outcomes. If a "0" shows for any of these outcomes, it means that none of the students' information could be verified.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
