Mid-State Technical College
Combined with successful completion of the state licensing exam, Mid-State s Cosmetology program provides the theory and practice you need to build your cosmetology career. Students study hair cutting, perming/relaxing, and styling as well as facial and scalp treatments, barbering, makeup, pedicuring, manicuring, and more. The program emphasizes sanitation and safety. You ll learn from experienced instructors, guest lectures, demonstrations, industry representatives, and platform artists. Students must have good fi ne motor skills, especially fi nger dexterity, as well as good hand-eye coordination and 20/40 vision in best eye with 70 degrees to each side for peripheral vision, as determined by the Department of Transportation.

Mid-State aims to offer several approaches to tutoring to ensure that students have options that fit their learning needs including lab-based, one-one-one, group, and online. Tutoring services are no cost to currently enrolled students.

Refunds are issued per the official refund schedule available at any Student Services Information Center. Refund amounts are determined by the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Refund Policy and federal financial aid regulations. Refunds will be issued to the student unless a documented third-party sponsorship or contract exists. In such cases the refund will be returned to the sponsor or contracting party.

PLEASE NOTE:

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
