Mid-State s Civil Engineering Technology-Highway Technician program prepares students to work in the construction of public projects like roads, bridges, parking structures, and storm water management systems. This important work also includes railroad, pipeline, power line, dam, canal, wastewater treatment facility, and airport construction. Through hands-on exercises and a capstone design project, you ll learn how to support the work of civil engineers, designers, surveyors, and city planners. You ll also receive training in surveying, soils, construction material testing, computer drafting, estimating, site design, mapping, and inspection procedures. Mid-State s Civil Engineering Technology-Highway Technician program courses provide the required educational hours to obtain the Professional Land Surveyor license; however, students need to complete four years of on-the-job experience in order to be eligible for licensure in the state of Wisconsin. Mid-State aims to offer several approaches to tutoring to ensure that students have options that fit their learning needs including lab-based, one-one-one, group, and online. Tutoring services are no cost to currently enrolled students.

Refunds are issued per the official refund schedule available at any Student Services Information Center. Refund amounts are determined by the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Refund Policy and federal financial aid regulations. Refunds will be issued to the student unless a documented third-party sponsorship or contract exists. In such cases the refund will be returned to the sponsor or contracting party.

PLEASE NOTE:

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
