Begin a healthcare career as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in hospitals, clinics and doctors offices. Opportunities also exist in commercial industries, scientific research and infection control. Career Outlook: Currently, the job market looks favorable. In the laboratory, the MLT performs analytical procedures under the supervision of a medical technologist or physician. This program admits students through a petition selection process. HP-A2 HESI Pre-admission exam required. The following also are required for admission to the program: A high school diploma or GED One year of high school-level (or one semester of college-level) algebra, biology and chemistry

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
