Using the latest technology, health information technicians collect, analyze and report healthcare data. This requires knowledge of diseases, treatments, regulatory issues, computer systems and organizational skills. Classes are taught at MATC's Health Education Center (HEC), 1311 North Sixth Street. This program admits students through a petition selection process. The following are also required for admission: • A high school diploma or GED • One year of high school-level chemistry B- or higher required in NATSCI-189 or NATSCI-177, or NATSCI-201 & 202 C or higher required in HEALTH-101

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
