Moraine Park Technical College s Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic program strives to prepare competent entry-level EMT-Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains to perform pre-hospital medical procedures. EMTs respond to emergencies and transport patients to appropriate care facilities. Working as an EMT, you ll respond to a number of situations ranging from vehicle crashes, heart attacks, childbirths to gunshot wounds. Paramedic students learn vital skills to perform advanced prehospital medical procedures. Incidents such as heart attacks, drownings, childbirth, auto accidents and gunshot wounds require immediate attention it s paramedics who can intervene in these instances and save lives! Acceptance in the Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic program required including health requirements and criminal background check. Students must be a licensed EMT or AEMT and maintain such licensure throughout the program.

Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester. Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.
Credits from Moraine Park's Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic technical diploma program will directly transfer into Moraine Park's Paramedic Technician associate of applied science degree.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
