About the Program The Culinary Assistant diploma at MPTC sets students up to be successful in any food preparation environment. What You'll Learn Students in the Culinary Assistant courses gain hands-on culinary skills in a professional lab, with instructors who work in the culinary field. Graduates are trained in a broad range of cooking techniques and preparation methods, incorporating safety and sanitation guidelines while using wholesome ingredients to create nutritious meals. This program is offered

Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester. Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.
Graduates of the program can directly transfer their credits into Moraine Park’s Culinary Arts associate of applied science degree if they decide to continue their education.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.

Additional fees will include books and supplies/materials. MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
