Milwaukee Area Technical College
This program prepares you to work in the barbering profession. You will learn shampooing, trimming, cutting and hairstyling techniques, as well as shaving, beard trimming, hair coloring and chemical texture services. The program can be completed in two semesters, and graduates are eligible to take the state board licensing exam. Keys to your success are good interpersonal skills; effective speaking, listening and time management skills; and manual dexterity. You must be able to work efficiently under pressure, and sell products and services.
