Industrial Equipment

There is a growing need for highly skilled employees to keep our manufacturing industries up and running. Job growth in Wisconsin is expected to be 8.7 percent in this industry by the year 2014. This program is aligned with the Wisconsin Adult Apprenticeship program as well as National Skill Standards.

Work-Based Requirements

Industry mentors are trained to teach youth apprentices the skills and knowledge needed to find entry level employment in the manufacturing industry.

Youth apprentices rotate through areas at the worksite (see Skills Standards Checklist) and take related instruction at the local high school, technical college or at the worksite.

The Industrial Equipment program has one option available. The one year option includes two semesters of classroom instruction (or the equivalent) which support a minimum of 450 work hours.
