Strains continue to be the number 1 nature of injury (21,504) with all other ? specific injuries (not otherwise classified) (4,721), fracture (3,081) and contusion (2,957) being the next most frequent natures of injury. The lost wage compensation for strains amounted to over $93 million. Cancer had the highest indemnity cost per claim at nearly $93,000.
