Cause of Injury - 2001 Claims

Lifting (7,231) and strain or injury by noc (5,148) are the largest causes of injuries. These two causes account for over $50 million in lost wage compensation. Crash of airplane was way ahead of the field for the highest average indemnity cost per claim at over $96,000. Struck or injured by moving parts of machine was next at nearly $23,000 per claim.
