Workers Compensation Act
The current version of Chapter 102, the Worker's Compensation Act, took effect January 1, 2000. This version of the Act provides the legal foundation for the worker's compensation system until the Worker's Compensation Advisory Council finalizes a package of amendments which will become effective January 1, 2002. The Council on Workers Compensation is a 14-member citizen group created to advise the Department of Workforce Development and the Legislature regarding proposed legislative changes to Chapter 102 of the Wisconsin Statutes. In addition to the Act, Chapter 80 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code provides detailed information on the manner in which various provisions of the Act should be implemented.
