Expansion Of Hours Rule

General Rule

For workers scheduled less than 24 hours:

The number of hours used in part 2 of the formula for computing TTD will be increased or "expanded" for part time workers regularly scheduled for less than 24 hours per week unless they "restrict" their availability for work:

For part-time workers scheduled 24 hours or more per week:

The number of hours used in part 2 of the formula for computing TTD will be increase or "expanded" for part-time workers working 24 or more hours per week only if the worker is not part of a class.

If the worker is not part of a class, the expansion is to full time, not less than 24 hours.

Note: If the worker is part of a class, there is no expansion

EXPLANATION OF EXPANSION RULE

This rule may result in a higher TTD rate than would otherwise be computed by the 2-part rule, and when it does, partial wages earned from employment with the employer of injury during the healing period will reduce TTD payable, i.e. TPD.
