Review and Approval of the Minutes of the Previous Meeting. Minutes of the May 21, 1998 Council meeting were unanimously approved as written.

Closed Session to Consider Security Reduction Request.  In accordance with s. 19.85(1)(f) the Council convened in closed session to review financial, loss experience, safety and other information for Benevolent Corporation Cedar Campuses, which is requesting a reduction of its security requirement. Open Session Discussion of Self-Insurance Newsletter.  Mr. Martz distributed a mock-up of a proposed newsletter which would be distributed periodically to self-insured employers. The newsletter would facilitate communications of a general nature. Such newsletters would likely be archived on the Division’s website. Council members expressed support for this idea, emphasizing the benefits to applicants and those new to the self-insurance program. Other Business. ANR Advance Transportation Company, fka Advance Transportation Company, has requested release of its $100,000 escrow. Financial statements were requested but have not yet been received. An update of the AR Accessories Group bankruptcy and open claims was discussed. Publicly announced mergers affecting current self-insurers Chrysler, Amoco, and Miller Compressing were discussed.

Next Meeting. Mr. Martz will poll the Council members for available dates in November 1998.
